Notes:

The jacket notes, written by Michael Brooks in November, 1974, state that Producer Hank O'Neal's invitation to the living members of the original Joe Venuti Blue Four were declined by all due to health reasons. "Only the Italian colossus (Venuti) was there, a little weatherbeaten, but still glaring defiance at any "empty suit" jazz critic who dared to express an untutored opinion." This recording, then, is the result of several jazz greats coming together with Venuti and under his direction (O'Neal's notes refer to Venuti "rapping out musical orders"), playing various tunes the original Joe Venuti Blue Four were famous for.
