Recorded 28 May, 1959 at Herndon Stadium, Atlanta, Georgia. Herndon Stadium was located at Morris Brown University. This recording was made during a stadium concert that also featured Ruth brown, Roy Hamilton, The Drifters, Huey Smith And The Clowns, Jimmy Reed, and B. B. King and his band. The introduction on side A sounds like it may be B. B. King. The Ray Charles segment was recorded by WAOK radio station using a portable tape machine.

Release date based on "black fan" label style introduced in 1962 that has large "A" and "ATLANTIC" running vertically.

The side B run-outs include an unusual stamp image unlike either the MGM "crown", "ankh", "inverted-T" or "arrow" stamps.
